“SVOYASY” The Path of Contemporary Russian Art

On March 4, 2025, the exhibition “SVOYASY” The Path of Contemporary Russian Art 2025 opened at the State Historical Museum. This journey, from archaic to avant-garde, is what the exhibition’s organizers invite visitors to take, having gathered 79 artists, designers, and craftsmen from across Russia in one hall. In the symbolic House—a space of existence imbued with the spirit of Russian cosmism—each author presents their personal story, united by the epic idea of exploring external and internal space. Among the works on display is my multimedia installation ‘The Breath of Birches, ’ which becomes part of this grand narrative.

“The Birch Breath” fits into the structure of the House’s exposition, where each zone—”the porch”, “the entryway”, “the main room”—reveals its own theme. This project becomes part of a unified tale about humanity, its connection to nature, the struggle for the future, and the pursuit of harmony.
